RAMAC/GPR™ Shielded Antennas
Shielded antennas are primarily used for medium to high resolution surveys. Their shielded design makes them particularly suitable for urban investigations or sites with a high level of background noise.
A particularly useful feature of the RAMAC/GPR™ antennas is their modularity, the antenna electronics, the pulling handle and measuring wheel are all interchangeable between different antennas, thus enabling multi antenna systems to be built up at a moderate cost.
Typical applications for shielded antenna include concrete and structural studies, railway ballast studies, utility mapping, voids, cavities and tunnels, road QA surveys

The shielded 100 MHz antenna is one of the lowest shielded antenna commercially available. Used in low to medium resolution applications in geological and geotechnical applications

The shielded 250 MHz antenna is a good general purpose antenna for medium depth penetration and resolution. It is commonly used for utility and other brownfield investigations.

The 500 MHz shielded antenna is the most popular antenna in the Mala Geoscience range. It delivers medium to shallow penetration depth but with good resolution. Excellent for road and railway ballast surveys and utility detection

The 800 MHz shielded antenna delivers excellent resolution for shallow investigations. The interchangeable electronics make the 800 MHz antenna a popular choice for high resolution surveys for owners of lower frequency systems. Commonly used for road and concrete mapping.

The 1000 MHz shielded antenna is used for very high resolution surveys, generally in concrete and masonry. It has built in electronics, is lightweight and small in size, thus enabling hand held applications.
