We are retained as the principal sales representatives and service centre by many of the leading geophysical instrument and software manufacturers for products such as Magnetometers, Seismographs, Gamma Ray Spectrometers, Resistivity, Electromagnetic sounding and Gravity meters.
We continue to expand our range of instrumentation, regularly updating and integrating new systems into our rental pool such as the Impulse Radar GPR products, which include the PinpointR and Crossover dual frequency systems. Geomatrix Earth Science Ltd are currently seeking a qualified and experienced test/repair electronics engineer to join our company on a permanent basis. The individual will work within our electronic engineering section, which involves working with a wide range of technologies:
. Analogue electronics
. Digital logic up to microprocessor level along with other related devices
. Data Transmission via RS232 and ethernet
. High density cable connectors
. Subsea and marine technological development
The candidate must show that they are capable of working with a wide variety of technologies with their prior experience and knowledge. This is a unique role which covers disciplines which cannot be found in most companies today.
We encourage the personal development of our staff and offer onsite training in order to support the individual when examining and testing the specific geophysical equipment. We expect the applicant to apply their current understanding of basic electronic building blocks when diagnosing electronic issues with the instrument. As the onsite electronics engineer, the successful candidate will be expected to manage the work schedule of other technicians.
This post is open to Non-UK nationals, subject to the UK regulations on inward migration. As part of our requirements the applicant must be fluent in the English language. We operate in a non-smoking environment.
As the main engineer you will be responsible for the following:
. Testing our equipment in accordance with the written test procedures
. Diagnosing any Faults on assemblies down to discreet component level
. Actively participate in the companies continuous improvement programme
. Assist on any other area of production such as the assembly, development and support other test technicians.
Skills and Experience
. Minimum HNC/HND in Electronics Engineering, or equivalent
. Competence in a high level of fault finding down to the discreet component level
. Thorough understanding of test methodologies using equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Multimeters, Power Supply Units
. Should be familiar with basic and advanced electronics components and their in-circuit functionality
. The applicant must be competent in reading and interpreting circuit diagrams, with respect to PCB assemblies and systems
