The GroundVue 2 (GV2) Ground Penetrating Radar system manufactured by Usti Electronics is specifically designed to operate with their low frequency shielded antenna. The transmitter and receiver antenna can be separated to permit Common Midpoint (CMP) and Wide Angle Reflection & Refraction (WARR) velocity analysis, in order to calibrate the radargram depth axis. The Groundvue acquisition software includes a curve fitting program. Thereafter the system can be used in common offset reflection mode to record subsurface profiles (radargrams or B-scans).
The rugged antenna design and high sampling rate makes the GV2 GPR system perfectly suited to towing behind a vehicle over rough terrain. The GV2 GPR system is commonly used for identifying geological formations to a depth of 40m; cavity detection, deep storage tank detection and monitoring the depth of peat land as part of environmental studies.
